Answers to the most common questions, and how to reach us.
How much does the app cost?
Weird NJ is $9.99, one time, with no subscription. It includes Data Pak-01 with 84 of New Jersey's strangest places, the Weird Map, the category browser and the Passport. Extra Data Paks, the three Weird Games and the Road Trip card decks are optional one-time purchases inside the app.
How does the Passport work?
Turn on location tracking and visit a Weird NJ location in person. When you arrive within the geo-fenced radius, the app stamps your Passport automatically. Passports need a free account, so your stamps and leaderboard rank are saved.
What are Data Paks?
Data Paks are optional in-app purchases that unlock more locations. The app includes Pak-01 (84 locations). Paks 02, 03 and 04 add 84, 82 and 66 more, for 316 locations in all.
Does it work offline?
Downloaded Data Pak content works offline, so you can read about a place with no signal. The Weird Map, Featured Locations and News & Events need an internet connection.
How do I submit a location?
Create a free account, then open My Locations from the Locations menu to send in a place, with a description and an optional photo. Submissions are reviewed before anything is added.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play and browse as a guest. A free account saves your Passport stamps, scores and Road Trip progress, and lets you join the leaderboards. You can delete your account at any time from Options.
Who are Mark & Mark?
Mark Moran and Mark Sceurman are the founders and editors of Weird N.J. magazine, first published in 1989. They are the authorities on all things strange in the Garden State, and the stories in this app come from their files.
Is it safe to visit these places?
Many places in the app are on private property or closed to the public, and a few can be dangerous. The app is for entertainment. Please obey posted signs and local laws, never trespass, and get permission before you visit. See the Legal Notice.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app, tap Options, then Delete My Account and confirm. If you can't use the app, follow the steps on the Delete Your Account page.
The Passport did not stamp a location. What should I do?
Make sure location tracking is on in the app and in your phone's settings, and that you are signed in to a free account. Stamps happen when you are within range of the location. If a location's pin looks wrong, use Update GPS on its page to tell us.
I found a mistake in a location. How do I report it?
Email us at support@tikiinteractive.com with the location name and what looks wrong, or use the App Feedback screen in Options.
